This young New Yorker is Rebecca Korbet lead singer in one of New Yoiks early 80's punk thrash outfits... Even Worse. They were part of a new hungry teenage breed of punks that exploded onto the New York streets in 1980 and bought to the big apple some well needed teenage spunk rock, instead of the older art school crowd. They were short-lived however coz by March '82 this classic line up of Even Worse had split up just before the release of their debut 13-song LP . An album which was shelved for another 20 years before Grand Theft Audio put it out and they made a short lived resurrection in 2002 playing two rare live appearances to mark the occasion of the retrospective release of 'You've Ruined Everything' CD. A release that includes their lost album plus a live set recorded from the board at New York's legendary Max's Kansas City club, on August 27, 1981.
It has subsequently been re-released as 'We Suck! ('The Lost 1982 Album') on Vinyl in January 2017 limited to 500 copies.
Founding member and drummer Jack Rabid took his then one page fanzine the BigTakeover (named after a Bad Brains song ) but focussing on the Stimulators and turned it into a succesful mag which now covers a wide variety of music, but the now rare punk coverage is usually spot on, so check it out at www.bigtakeover.com.

This shot of Rebecca appeared in Sounds music weekly in the UK and was shot by Laura Levine. Rebecca has now gained a Doctorate in English history and is now apparently living in the UK.
The 'I love my job' strip she's holding was torn off a subway poster and used in reference to an in band joke regarding Bad Brains who would sometimes stay at the bands apartment and lend each other equipment. One of Bad Brains girlfriends would shout out a mis heard song title 'I Luv my job' instead of the real title 'I Luv My Jah'.
