I was first a punk when I was still at
school in Leeds. I got kicked out of
school when I was 16 and that made
me like punk even more. There was a
big gang of us. We'd go to every gig in
Bradford and Sheffield. I was always a
clean one though; some of the others
were real filthy and mucky. I wouldn't
class myself as a punk, I'm just an
individual. I don't like being put into any
categories. Anyone that's different gets
called a punk. The punks now aren't
very classy, The scene now is all
young kids. They were in short
trousers in '77.
