LYDIA LUNCH
Nooo Yawks high priestess of sleaze 'n' extreme confrontation has been peddling her arty
ego via rock 'n' roll, film and in print over the last 30 years. She's been described as "a
perceptive barb in our psycho-sexual subconsciousness
" by some, and in other circles "a
pretentious, whinging bitch!
" Whatever you think of her, she's certainly entertaining.
Here's what inspired
Miss Lunch's pen and ink during the 8 year span from 1982-89.
Totally out of date but fascinating reading and
reprinted here for your entertainment from
the trivia vaults of the
Punk Rocker files.

RELIGION
Satanism. It's probably the most honest.

TOOLS OF THE TRADE
A camera: In order to stimulate certain anxieties in people, a good device is to take the audience's photo before and
alter a performance from the stage.
A Police Mag flashlight: Especially good for trapping rats in the audience, if there are any hecklers out there you
can zero in on them.

WORST PERFORMANCE
On the'Agony Is The Ecstasy' tour where I opened for The Cure. One of these particular dates was the worst
piece of shit I ever heard or did in my life. lt was so terrifying I had to run into the bathroom and hide for half an
hour.

BEST PERFORMANCE
The 'Why You Murder Me' production's tag-team duo of me and Henry Rollins in the pitch black room at The
Fetish Club, Los Angeles in 1982.

PETS
Yeah. . .They're all about 14 to 20 years old!

PERFORMANCE ARTISTS
The Viennese Performance Group from Austria during the '60s. They'd fill a room with 200 people and then
release an equivalent number of rats or bees.
Karen Finlay. Through comedy and horror she deals with the abuse of reality in her life experiences.
