POISON IVY - THE CRAMPS

Poison Ivy of the Cramps or Kristy Marlana Wallace as she was born is an undeniable icon or as she prefers "misfit". She hit 70 in 2023 and was possibly the only human being on this planet capable of eclipsing Lux interior on stage as she coolly threaded those psychotic chords on her 1958 Gretsch 6120 beneath his rampant shrieks and unique showmanship. Without it seems so much as lifting an eyebrow or perhaps maybe the slightest swivvle of her hips. She was slim, silent stunning and oh so cool and her playing was second to none. She co-wrote the lyrics, wrote the music and looked after the bands finances. If she wrote a book on her life it would be a best seller.
When Lux Interior passed away in 2009 she disappeared from the public gaze without a trace. No new bands or new projects or musical collaborations for this girl. Well lets face it, who could fill Lux's size 12 stilettos anyway? She has become a phenomenon in her silence. And you have to give her more respect for doing so. It shows that the Cramps and Lux were her life and that anything else just wouldn't be right or have half as much integrity. We wish her all the best coz there won't be another CRAMPS in our lifetime a true queen of Rock 'N' Roll.
