Black Flag entertain a bemused crowd in Polliwog Park LA Sunday July 22nd 1979.
There was riotous scenes during and after the performance of this FREE gig for families and the local community. Expecting some laid back covers band they got Black Flag. The band were pelted with cans and fruit while families left pretty fast once the songs kicked in and punks started dancing. Strangely enough we get 3 Black Flag singers in one shot. Keith Morris the original singer, while the two guys wrestling on the floor are Ron Reyes (the next singer after Keith leaves the band) and his buddy Dez Cadena who would also later take over the reigns from Ron as well as playing rhythm guitar for the band.
The actual picture was taken by Spot who would work with Black Flag on later recordings and prodcing bands for the SST label run by Black Flag founder Greg Ginn. You can read the full story here.
