Generation X carry on from last nights Roxy show with a gig at London's Greenwich Theatre. Support comes from the up and coming pop rockers Squeeze and The Zips not to be mistaken with the Glasgow Zips who formed in 1978. |
Today The Boys naively signed a five-year deal with NEMS and became the 2nd UK punk band (following the Stranglers) to sign an album deal (The Damned had a one-single deal with Stiff and the Sex Pistols had been sacked by EMI). Although Polydor, a major label, offered to buy out their contract NEMS wouldn't allow it so The Boys were left to make the best of NEMS obvious limitations. |
