1970's - 1980's - 1990's - 21ST C. - BAND GALLERY'S - DEADLY DUO'S - PUNK COUPLES
No these ain't a gang of bruisers from the wrong end of the tracks ready to greet you. They're actually The Depressions from sunny Brighton UK back in 1977. Although if you come across Frank 'Ammer Smith or the gigantic 'Kro Bar Garvey' in a dark alleyway you wouldn't be mistaken for thinking so.
This shot was used for the front cover of their debut 45 back in 1977 called 'Living On Dreams'. They had limited success with their "Who" influenced take on punk and even some street cred graffitti they sprayed round Brighton which got 'em ncked. But didn't earn 'em many punk brownie points in the mainstream press. Tragedy struck when someone got killed at a gig while supporting the Vibrators when two gangs clashed in the audience. Negative media coverage lost them a lot of bookings and they even resorted to changing their name to the DP's but by 1979 they had called it quits.
