JANUARY
January 1st: Fucking hell it's New Years day of a new Millenium! And you know what, it's just like any other day I can't see what all the fuss is about. I spent New Years Eve like last year skint, sober and a pauper!!! (Aaahh!) The firework display outside was good for ten minutes though. Anyway fuck that I've just discovered how to get my US Bombs interview into these pages. My next hurdle is getting this whole thing published. Hope no hitches occur.
January 5-9th: I've just discovered that these pages don't run on into inffinity! Damn! Looks like I'll have to have page two of this Punk Diary sooner than I thought. Not much punk to report although I've just heard there's a new venue in Wolverhampton opening it's doors to punk bands again. I'll be starting work on my new paper issue of the Suffragette #12. But with juggling that around building this site, scanning in stuff and playing Command and Conquer's Red Alert game...I'm practically doing something on this computer all fucking day. Well I bet it's better than sitting on a bench begging the passerby for a can of White Lightning or being banged up 23 hours a day! I've just designed the 'Nihilism' logo for the front page. Blackmail writing always looks good in my book! Those banner companies don't offer anything for the ripped 'n' torn perspective amongst us! And they sure don't cater for ransom demands...tut tut! I sill ain't happy with the page backdrops but it's staying put till I sorted some text to go in my reviews. Loads more stuff
to include.
Jananuary 10th: Just discovered my photocopy shop what prints my fanzines has shut down...damn blast!!! So that basically means I can't
carry on with the printed Suffragette fanzine for the forseeable future, or until I find alternative prices locally. It does mean I can concentrate
solely on the website. Motivation comes from the least expected places. Oh yeah orders are starting to trickle in for zines I ain't got....bastard!!
FEBRUARY
Mid. February: A funny month this was. I only go and burn the lining off my stomach walls through too much lager. Oh yeah it was my Birthday as well!! Cheers for the cards from Mitch and Ila. It appears the newly reformed Cockney Rejects are ready to gig but not in the UK! Good interview and video footage on the Kontrol site. New flavour of the month Beerzone seem to have taken the States by storm via the Business tour. However headliners The Business get shot at in Salt Lake City which can't be too healthy.
MARCH
March: EUREEKA!!!!! Finally get the last few pages up on-line. But somehow it seems like an anti-climax. I dunno maybe it's coz the sites so basic looking or the fact that I've just discovered that jpeg scans ain't always the most suitable for some images. Well the fuckers up that's the main thing. All I gotta do now is inform the punk world (HA HA HA). Send out 'Nihilism On The Prowl' e-mail adverts to every punk in my address book. And some of 'em don't seem very pleased (ha!)
SEPTEMBER
September 15th: Got hold of some hair clippers today and thought i'd redesign my messy spikes.. being on a Police line-up for assault on a bar manager might've also influenced me so I reluctantly had to shave the lot off boo hoo. Not sure a skinhead cut is up my street!! So the moral of this story is...don't let unsupervised punks alone with hair clippers and cutting your hair don't save you from being picked out either grrrr. Oh yeah nearly finished uploading The Suffragette zine! Started getting problems publishing pages and some of the link colours are changing for some unknown reason via Homestead? So hoping to sort this out over the weekend. No updates till that's sorted baahhhh!
September 16th: Finally get The Suffragette #1 up on-line...phewwww! Next issue maybe some time in fact I'tll be ages yet after that marathon. I wanna get some record reviews up next. The Homestead builder is now giving me 90% of it's full, capabilities but at least I can publish pages for the time being.
September 23rd: Get The Stench autobiography up on the 'Wulfrunia' page. In case your thinking who???
They were an early 80's UK punk band and I sung for em or was it swung??? Well see for yourself on this
link The Stench! It took fucking ages to compile going through old photos and bits of set list to place the
dates. Lucky I took some notes way back then on our more interesting activities. In fact I had to leave a
lot out coz I just can't remember...it was one big fucking blur!!!
DECEMBER
December 18th: Fucking hell just discovered today that my home town (Wolverhampton) has just been
given 'CITY' status! Ha ha ha! I can't fucking believe it!!!...doe's this mean I can now hang out in the big
bad City tonight??? Or take a bus to the big City!!! Well other less hysterical news is that I'm nearly
finished the 'Safety-Pin Awards'. A bit later than promised but I had a lot of stuff to do in the
last few weeks. So keep yer eyes peeled! I'd best go see whats on offer....IN THE CITEEEEEYYYYYYY!!!!!
December 20th: Get the Safety-Pin Awards up and about fuckin' time too ain't it? Any feedback is welcome
but it's a bit too fuckin late now!
December 23rd: Added the Pukemon Gallery donated by Mick Mercer, who has been taking snaps of bands
in and around London since 1977. Some great photo's in his CD collection so check em out. An interview
will be up in the new year sometime. Started laying out the 'Satety-Pin Awards' pages. There's still time for your contributions, but it seems like no-one has an opinion apart from me. So no complaint when you see who's nominated. Hopefully might manage to get it up by the weekend!!! Where have you heard that before? Not a lot to report on the punk front. That new mag Noise Pollution has a few good interviews in it, but the majority of in house bands are for want of a better word bland. Got some great snaps in from my fellow Sex Pistol collaborator Karl from the Vectors. And that's about it. Don't us punks lead really exciting lives!!!
December 27th: Finally getting back into some sort of decorum after the last few days. Started work on the new Sex Pistols site I'm gonna conjure up hopefully in the next few months. So look out for FUCK FOREVER soon. Gotta load of updates and interviews to transcribe so I better pull my finger out. Just watched the League Of Gentlemen on TV and they are fucking mad!!!
